OlimpiadeKuncija (or simply Kuncija) is an attempt to investigate and describe the Śarīra lineage of Kriyāra-pratyakṣa (pratyakṣa is seeing) within the context of Vedic and Tantric literatures. The Śarīra-kriyā-devata is the preserver of Śarīra (the physical body), which is the basis of the Hindu human or biographical subject. The Kuncija means in part a clearing of the forest of the obscuration of the Sruti in order to make way for the construction of a temple (a shining or illuminated, as opposed to dark or obscure, understanding). These are specifically the Vedas, Ṛk-Sā, Yajur-Veda, Atharva-Veda, Aitareya-Atharvashtra, Taittiriya-Upaniṣad, Pāraskara-Upaniṣad, and Dharmasūtras. The Srivaishnava Acarya and poet Shri Madhvacharya have proposed that the Kuncija is a concept and an ideology within the Śarīra-Kriyā-devata tradition, whereas other scholars have disagreed. The first piece of writing on the Kuncija was published by the Srirangam Sēṭraṇāmalai, the second by one U. G. Krishnan. In modern times, the Kuncija is practiced by the Srivaishnavaacarya, Vidyaranya (M. V. Desika), and Ananda Tirtha.
